Spring is in the Air!

At the time of writing this article signs of Spring are bursting forth all around me. There is a sense that winter has all but passed, temperatures are rising and Spring flowers are bursting through.

The annual arrival of Spring, whether that be in March in the Northern Hemisphere or in September, if you live in the Southern Hemisphere, is a reminder of the faithfulness of God. He has promised us in Genesis 8:22 that as long as the earth remains there will be Springtime and Harvest.

“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”

As Spring begins to take hold and the days grow longer, and hopefully brighter, we can feel our spirits lift in anticipation that the icy winds of winter will become a distant memory as we begin to feel the warmth of the sun on our face.

However …

Perhaps you are reading this article and it may feel like you have been enduring a long, hard winter, be that in your health, your finances, your family or in the  business, organisation or ministry you lead.

As you read these thoughts, I believe that God would draw alongside you and say that He has seen the long, hard journey you have been on. Even as the sunshine of Spring breaks through, bringing hope of better days, I believe God wishes you to know the warmth of His presence and the unshakeable hope that is found in Christ alone.

In order to ‘spring’ forward, I believe God would have you:

S - Settle your hearts and minds on the truth of His Word.

P - Praise Him, in advance, for the new season of breakthrough and blessing that He will lead you into.

R - Rise up, in faith, not held captive by the past, but pressing on into the dreams that God has birthed in your hearts.

I - Invest time in God’s Word and in God’s presence, so that you might live and lead with the confidence of knowing you are God’s son or daughter.

N - Nurture others through the early stages of growth, so that they can partner with you in the harvest season that will surely come.

G - Give God the glory for all He has done, all He is doing and all He will yet to do. Thankfulness is the soil in which new life can continue to grow, even when winter returns.

… and finally, as you ‘spring forth’ may you know afresh that through Christ you are already an overcomer.
